Facility Security Officer (FSO)

Location: Lexington, MA
Job Title: Facility Security Officer (FSO)
Type of Position: Full-time

Boston Fusion is seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO). The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing security policies and procedures related to classified information, cleared facilities, and cleared personnel, as well as the physical security of our offices. The position will report to the Director of Finance & Administration. This is an exceptional opportunity for a security professional to work with a highly motivated technical staff in a team environment. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Perform all duties of the Facility Security Officer, with a focus on security education and training, maintaining compliance with Physical Security Policies, handling security vulnerability assessments, and managing Personnel Security matters

  • Perform all duties of the Primary COMSEC custodian

  • Assume responsibility for other Security-related roles, including ISSM, SSM, and SSO

  • Ensure inspections, reviews, investigations, and other reportable issues are compliant with the Defense Security Service (DSS) and Department of Defense sponsor standards

  • Create, coordinate, and implement security policies and procedures pertaining to the safeguarding of classified information according to the NISPOM, DCIDs, and ICDs

  • Manage collateral and TS/SCI security clearance function/processes and related activities including classified visits (incoming and outgoing)

  • Oversee the clearance process of all new and current employees

  • Operate multiple security databases (ISFD, E-FCL, JPAS)

  • Respond to security questions and issues

  • Control access to the cleared facility through oversight of physical security systems including: badging, access control, and alarms

  • Oversee maintenance, installation, upgrading and servicing of physical security systems to include the periodic testing of the alarms

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art security equipment standards and technology

  • Maintain the WO lock & safe program

  • Conduct physical security inspections and facility evaluations

  • Respond to after-hour alarms or emergencies

  • Maintain security data for monthly reports

  • Perform other team members’ duties, as required

  • Maintain security data for monthly reports

  • Conduct weekly audits of COMSEC equipment

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of government security regulations

  • Ability to discreetly handle sensitive information and situations

  • Strong working knowledge of the NISPOM, JAFAN 6/3, and DCID/ICD documents

  • Training in DSS FSO, NISPOM Chapter 8, and DCID/ICD

  • Comprehension of National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives and other government regulations

  • Ability to adjust quickly and adapt to changing priorities

  • General understanding of engineering drawings and specifications sufficient to determine the adequacy of facility security safeguards

  • Experience with badging, access control and IDS systems

  • Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as the ability to learn new computer applications

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Proven customer service skills

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years related experience

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Previous experience as a Facility Security Officer or Assistant Facility Security Officer with a proven track record of successful adherence to the NISPOM

  • A current DoD or Intelligence Community Top Secret clearance

Senior Software Developer

Location: Lexington, MA
Job Title: Senior Software Developer
Type of Position: Full-time

Boston Fusion is seeking a senior software developer with experience in designing and building prototype software systems, and in rapidly leveraging existing open source codebases. The senior developer role requires significant interaction with research scientists to design, implement, and optimize advanced software systems. Boston Fusion develops prototype applications that include optimized ingest and search over large graph databases; object recognition in imagery and video; entity, relation, and event recognition in text; multi-modal sensor fusion; clickstream analysis; and swarm command and control.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and test software systems in collaboration with the scientific staff

  • Rapidly understand, modify and implement algorithms described in research papers or available under open source

  • Maintain strong software design and development skills

  • Document and present software development results

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (with 5+ years of experience) or Master’s (with 3+ years of experience) degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

  • Professional programming skills using the following languages: Python, Java, C/C++

  • Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and automated documentation (e.g., Doxygen)

  • Experience developing microservices, containers, and APIs

  • MUST be a U.S. citizen (Sorry, no exceptions)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using TensorFlow, Torch, and Caffe

  • Experience developing offensive and defensive cybersecurity technology

  • Experience processing data from video, imagery, audio, text, and sensor returns (e.g., radar)

  • Experience implementing advanced human-computer collaboration capabilities

  • Experience implementing predictive analytics software

  • Active Department of Defense or Intelligence Community security clearance

Full Stack Developer

Location: Lexington, MA
Job Title: Full Stack Developer
Type of Position: Full-time

Boston Fusion is seeking a developer to be part of a team doing world-class technical research in machine learning and data fusion. You will have full ownership of the frontend on multiple projects, writing code and making development decisions with minimal direct supervision. On the backend, you will develop APIs and databases collaboratively with our researchers. In this role, you will work across multiple projects and to rapidly develop visually impressive web app prototypes.

We require expertise in standard, maintainable website development tools such as JavaScript, CSS, SQL, jQuery, as well as some knowledge of modern object-oriented programming languages as needed to integrate the front-end with the back-end. This role would be a good fit for a full-stack developer, who could also support our researchers by developing and improving back-end code written in languages such as Python, C++, or R. Knowledge of these languages is therefore a plus, but willingness to learn is sufficient for the right candidate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with JavaScript, HTML and CSS and/or demonstrable, successful experiences designing professional-quality webpages

  • 1+ years of experience with Python

  • Experience building RESTful APIs

  • Experience with multiple technologies. We often use: Flask, jQuery, Bootstrap, SQL and NoSQL database systems

  • Ability to make development decisions, work both independently and collaboratively

  • Ability to work on multiple projects and rapidly deliver working application prototypes

Principal Research Scientist

Job Title: Principal Research Scientist

Boston Fusion is seeking a world-class principal research scientist with at least 15 years of professional experience to advance the state of the art in machine learning, knowledge discovery, and data fusion, with emphasis in one or more of the following application areas: multimodal sensor fusion, graph analytics, cyber-security, information theory, image understanding, natural language understanding, autonomous reasoning, and probabilistic modeling.

In this senior staff position, you will be part of a team of high-achieving researchers formulating creative solutions to challenging problems. Further, you will perform pure and applied research similar to academia (publishing papers, attending conferences, etc.) while providing useful results for our customers. You will be expected to take a leadership role in shaping future opportunities and writing winning proposals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, implement, and evaluate technical solutions in support of Boston Fusion’s contracts

  • Serve as a principal investigator, leading technical teams to develop innovative concepts and translate them into technical solutions

  • Identify new business development opportunities and write winning proposals

  • Publish papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, documenting our research

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master’s or PhD in computer science, natural science, mathematics, engineering, or related fields and 15 or more years of professional research experience

  • Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages: R, Python, or C++

  • In-depth machine learning research experience documented with publications

  • Strong mathematical knowledge, including Bayesian statistics, linear algebra, and graph theory

  • Experience as a principal investigator on DARPA, IARPA, AFRL, ONR or ARL research projects
